I don't know what you use your project bag for, but I keep yarn, hooks and patterns in mine, roughly one project per bag. And I don't need anything fancy - no hand-made for me. In fact, the absolute BEST project bag for me is a $3 gift bag with a flat bottom.
The biggest qualification I have for a project bag is the ability to keep my yarn in it, and to be able to pull yarn out easily and without tangling or tugging issues. The flat bottom is key for this. Only now I'm in short supply, because I have a huge number of projects going on. You can see that here are three projects, and they aren't even the two I'm working on most recently. Obviously I need more gift bags.
